Valentines Day…

So, I forgot it was Valentine's day. Well, no that's wrong, I didn't forget. I just didn't realise I had a chat scheduled for tonight as WELL as it being Valentine's day. So, after being told in no uncertain terms that tonight is a no-pc night, I've had to cancel the live chat over on the LPI forums. Hopefully that's not going to put people out too much :S although I figure a lot of people are going to be busy doing romantic type things with their other halves.

So, what did I do for Valentine's day other than cockup chat dates? Well, I brought some wedding rings. No, I'm not getting married. Since I'm already married I figure the police would be interested in chatting to me if I tried to get married again.

But Mr Carter and I need some new rings. We don't wear gold you see. I really don't like gold rings but we used to. It was the 'done thing' at the time but when Mr C trashed his ring on site (he's a plumber and mangled all the back) we took the opportunity to switch them out for a set of titanium rings. Then along came little 'un which means I can't wear mine because it doesn't fit and titanium can't be resized.

So today I brought new rings. They're tungsten this time and not gold so no doubt some relative somewhere will turn their nose up as families are wont to do. But I'll stick my guns on this one. A wedding ring doesn't in my opinion have to be gold, even just a little research on the web reveals that gold is a relatively new material for wedding rings and I like the sheer durability of tungsten. It's one of the toughest materials on the planet, apparently never looses it's shine and isn't easily scratched. I'd like to think my marriage to Mr C is a little like that. We've had tough times. Hell, we've had REALLY tough times but we're still here even though certain folks only gave us six months (we've been together sixteen years now and married over ten). I could throttle him sometimes and although we've settled into a comfortable routine, that shine there still hasn't worn off.

So yeah, tungsten works for me :D And Mr C got to pick them which made him a happy little bunneh today. I think he made a good choice...

Just anxiously biting my fingernails now to see if I got the sizes right and they fit!!!
