Well, I’m not a reviewer so this won’t be all polished and whatnot, but I am a reader and I know what I like so I figured I’d give you a run down on what I’ve been reading.

As a novice in the Temple of Luna, Avani is training for the day she’ll become a revered priestess, with the skills and magic needed to soothe the feral warriors fighting a brutal war against the world’s remaining human colonies. Though forbidden contact with the warriors who have come to the temple for relief, Avani can’t keep her distance from Rais, her uncle’s protégé and one of the most dangerous fighters the wolves have ever known.

As the royal heir, Rais is destined to take a mate and ascend to the throne, but first he must complete his service as a warrior. The Savage Temple’s priestesses offer him relief in the meantime, though there’s one he’s vowed never to touch. He remembers Avani as the innocent girl she was when they met, but the intervening years have made her a woman. A woman the wolf burns to claim…

I liked this story, just long enough to give a really sweet little love story, it was also long enough to give some VERY hot scenes as well and moved along at a good pace. I liked the relationship between Avani and Rais, particularly the fact that Avani had always had a thing for Rais before she entered the temple. Rais’ possessive side is also delicious and the care he pays to her, despite the fact she wasn’t expecting it was very nice.

The only small complaint I have with it is the fact it’s too short, there was a lot more i wanted to know about the world and the society the couple come from. Tantalizing mentions were made of a war with the humans and what struck me was the werewolf angle was downplayed, until it was mentioned I hadn’t thought too much on that side of their nature.

Overall, this is a great story and I am very much waiting with baited breath for another installment.
